KERRY PRIMARY SCHOOLS SUPER SEVENS SLAM BOYS FINALS 2011.

The boys basketball finals of the Kerry Primary Schools Super Sevens Slam were held at the Presentation Gym Killarney on Monday last with Gneeveguilla National School recording a remarkable double success with the both the boys & girls Cup. The tournament held through April & May saw sixteen national schools teams compete in with the winning teams successfully coming through seven rounds to securing the honours.

BOYS CUP FINAL

The boys of Gneeveguilla NS ensured a Cup double for their school as they emulated the girls with an exciting victory over Knockaderry NS from Farrenfore the final game of the Schools Super Sevens 2011. This was a hard earned win but Gneeveguilla lead all through and the result was never certain until the final buzzer. Gneeveguilla boys went through unbeaten and like the girls were on a six game unbeaten run and played with great determination keen to secure a cup double for their school and for dedicated coach Mary Sexton.The Farrnefore boys tried hard with captain Shane o'Donnoughue impressing with 6pts but Gneeveguilla secured the Super Sevens Cup with baskets by Connie O'Connor, Shane O'Sullivan and Jamie Brosnan to deservedly take the title in a very competitive final.

The Kerry Primary Schools girls finals night of the Super Sevens Slam were held at the Presentation Gym at on Wednesday evening last before a large attendance following a thrilling nights basketball.

KERRY JUVENILE AWARDS PRESENTATIONS 2011.

The Kerry Area Boards juvenile awards presentations take place next thursday April 21st at the Meadowlands  Hotel Tralee.

Congratulations to Cougars girls U16 & U17 teams that won Kerry League titles this season. Well done to all concerned including Coach Laura Sourke and captains U17 Chloe O'Doherty & U16 Shannon Ahern on another successful season.

SCHOOLS SUPER SEVENS SLAM 

The Schools Super Sevens Slam got off to a great start on sunday last with the opening rounds of the girls competiton played at the Pres Gym.

The large attendance enjoyed the opening rounds of games with The Holy Cross Mercy and Gneeveguilla NS both the early pace setters both recording three impressive wins each with Firies NS and Nohoval also impressing with some two wins each. The competition continues with the second round of games on Thursday evening next April 14th at the Pres Gym.

SCHOOLS SUPER SEVENS SLAM 2011

The inaugural Schools Super Sevens Slam for boys and girls commences on Sunday April 10th for girls and Sunday April 17th for boys with all games being played at the Presentation Gym , Killarney. The schools will include Firies , Fossa , Holy Cross , Mercy , Monastery , Knockaderry , Gaelscoil Faithleann, Twomile and Gneeveguilla , Nohoval & St Olivers . The invitational tournament is organised by Team Kerry / Killarney Cougars BC.
